Why SpicyChat AI characters forget: context and memory guide

Understand the context window, Memory Manager and Semantic Memory 2.0 before a long roleplay drifts.

Context is a shared workspace

Character definition, Persona, recent messages, replies and instructions all use the same limited window. When new text fills it, the oldest chat turns are no longer visible to the model. That is expected context behavior, not proof that the entire chat was deleted.

Plan limits matter

Official support lists 4,096 context tokens for Free and Get A Taste, 8,192 for True Supporter and 16,384 for I’m All In. The live subscription table currently shows 32K for the top tier, so verify the checkout screen while the official pages are out of sync.

Use memory deliberately

Manual Memory Manager starts with Get A Taste. Save identities, relationship changes, current location and unresolved goals. Pin only the facts that must always be present. Semantic Memory 2.0 begins with True Supporter and adds automatic memories.

Repair a drifting chat

Restate a critical fact naturally, remove contradictory turns, simplify the character definition, move background material into a Lorebook, or clone the conversation from the last coherent point.
